Welcome to the New Zealand Geothermal Workshop, New Zealand's longest running energy conference. This year the workshop will be held on 16 - 18 November at the Rotorua Convention Centre, Rotorua, New Zealand.
Investment and interest in geothermal energy is running red-hot. Since 2005 in New Zealand, installed generating capacity has increased by about 30% to 585 MWe and as of 2009 an increase of nearly 800 MWe is in the pipeline or planned.
Internationally, the International Geothermal Association estimates that total global geothermal capacity will be 11 GWe by next year. The forces that are reinvigorating the geothermal energy market are global.
Geothermal and the marketplace is the theme for our special sessions in 2009.
We would be delighted if you could join us in November for the 31st New Zealand Geothermal Workshop.
